Dental Charting

SPEAKER: Bonnie Miller, RDH, BS is the staff Registered Dental Hygienist at the Ryan Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Dental charting should be the initial component of every dental procedure, serving to establish current conditions in the mouth and used for comparison with other visits. Essentially, it is a thorough extra-oral and intra-oral examination necessary for diagnosis and determination of oral/dental treatment options. This presentation introduces the participant to dental terminology, instrumentation, and the step-by-step methods used in performing a thorough oral/dental exam.
